THE BIG IDEA
To help Australia achieve its emission reduction fund target, innovative companies competitively bid to deliver large scale CO2 harvesting through a reverse auction process. Regenerative Australian Farmers (RAF) aim to offer the most economical way to achieve the highest rate of CO2 harvesting through their Soil Bank Program.

During the program participating farmers will receive guaranteed payments for each tonne of carbon their farm sequestrates into the soil; add that to improved soil structure stability, lower fertilizer costs and increased sustainable crop yield. The future is green.
WHAT'S ON OFFER AND HOW CAN YOU BENEFIT?
HOW IS CARBON LAND VALUED?
Not all farmland is equal but the technology can help bank carbon into the soil. Each tonne of carbon is worth dollars, regardless of where, or in what soil type it was sequestrated in.
WANT TO BE INCLUDED?
Participating farmers will be paid on a carbon sequestration yield rate just like any other cash crop. The added benefit to Australia’s soil is a fundamental regeneration of the farmland. Land that has been upgraded will naturally also be worth more on the commercial market so its a treble win situation. Australia meets its emission reduction targets, farmers get paid for their carbon harvest and the physical land value increases.

SOIL BANK PROVIDES MANAGEMENT AND TECHNOLOGY PARTNERS
Defining how well the farmland is being carbon managed is central to linking good practice with value. A star rating system will be assigned against a transparent set of management criteria. In this way farmland can be systematically upgraded both in actual performance but also in star rating.
A localised prefix will also explain the landscape fundamentals. Four tier groupings have been created so at a glance land can be immediately qualified in its fundamentals and management.
For example Highly productive loamy pasture in a well irrigated location with excellent carbon farming management would be described as Tier One - Five Star whereas a poorly carbon managed farm would be described as Tier One - One Star
In this way the soil carbon rating provides a positive environment for land betterment.
Any farm with the correct carbon management can be elevated to
5 Star
Farmers in the programme will benefit from access to the latest field production technologies which improve both land & crop yield values.
